1 / 3I have 20 years experience teaching English and teaching kids how to read. I developed my own method for teaching children to read in English with perfect pronunciation. 3 easy steps. 1. Learn the alphabetic code. #2 Learn to read using the letter sounds to blend the sounds together to read and say words. #3 Become familiar with the various letter/sound combinations of the 44 sounds of English.
When a child enters grade 1 and knows how to read they have a definite advantage over the students who have not learned how to read yet. The head-start can have a life-long benefit.
Once a child reaches the age of 4.5 they are ready for classroom instruction. 45-minute to 1-hour lessons are long enough to start off with.
For $25/hr. plus travel expenses, if required, I will teach a child 1-on-1 on how to read. After about 5-10 x 45 minute lessons a child will be able to read their first simple book. Progress depends on a child`s aptitude but progress usually picks up speed as we go along.
For me and the kids, a class of 4-6 students x 4.5 - 5.5 years old would be ideal. Peer pressure works wonders in getting kids to participate.
Price. I hour minimum charge. 1 student $25/hr. Groups, 2 students $20/hr. each. 3 students $15 hr. each. 4 students $10 hr. each.
I`m very good at what I do and even though I`m older the kids and I get along great. As well as learn to read I also teach about numbers and all sorts of stuff. My lessons are intensive but fun.
